First day of rehearsal

Bass player Paul Turner on the left.
He plays with Annie Lennox so it was fun for him to do our Bossa Nova rendition of the Eurythmics classic “Who’s that Girl”.
And percussionist Danny Cummings who played with one of my other favorites, John Martyn.

Paul and Danny

Guitarist Colin Ryan and The Lovely Lady Sarah as we like to call her for long on backing vocals.

With John Gleadall as our special guest, we played the Joni Mitchell classic “A Case of You”
The very same song that we played at our first gig at this very same venue … when I was 14!!

On our way to Scotland, we visited the stark, beautiful and breathtaking Holy Island.
After the Castle, Church and Priory, we sampled the Holy Wine.

Stopped off in Dundee to pick up the FAB new album of my pal Michael Ball.

We made a lovely detour to LIPA, The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, founded by Sir Paul McCartney.
I was very honored to be asked to give a master class to the students about my career as a singer songwriter.
Here I am with the CEO Mark Featherstone (who interviewed me)
and Eddie Lundon (one of the teachers and was in the fab UK Band, China Crisis)

What an absolute treat to have the G:FORCE GOSPEL CHOIR joining us for “Happy Ever After” and “Hope Prayer and Time”.
They came along to the Liverpool gig and wrote a lovely email afterwards saying they were huge fans
and were also coming to tonight’s gig so we asked them to join us and they took the roof off this lovely theatre!

Grant and I had the best time at the AMAZING Jackson Browne gig at the Albert Hall last night.
Here we are with musicians extraordinaire, Greg Leisz and Jeff Young (who both played on my ‘East West’ album).
Also, Dianna Cohen, CEO of The Plastic Pollution Coalition
PLUS Mauricio “Fritz” Lewak on drums.
The Jackson Band all played like KINGS, truly FAB.

It’s not every day you get a menu with your name on it, LITERALLY!
A fancy menu was made in honor for my gig there. I will have to change my name to Queen Julia!

This delightful creature was on her way to the theatre with her Mum and Dad and Teddy (who as you can see had his Red Velvet Porcelain coat on).
Martha was also holding a letter for me, a request for “The I Wanna Song”
So we ended the gig with that & the whole crowd dancing and singing and with a star dancing turn from Martha up on stage.
She is only 5! Can’t believe she made it through the whole gig, sat right in the front, wide eyed and adorable and alert from start to finish!

What wonderful memories I have to carry home with me from Porcelain 25.
THANK YOU ALL for your warm welcome’s, standing ovations, dancing & singing.
It was great to see family, old friends, new fans & all the familiar faces – I was deeply touched by it all.
Here is one of my fave photo’s from the London show at Cadogan Hall by Ren Brocklehurst.
